The Amador Schools Arts Foundation is sponsoring the Amador County Unified School District Annual K–12 Art Show, March 9–25, 2010.

We are planning a new concept for this year’s show. Works submitted must be based on the theme, Heroes.  The exhibit will consist of tributes to the unsung heroes of our time.  Teachers are encouraged to integrate art, social studies, language, and literature to help students celebrate and recognize someone who makes a difference.  We are inviting each elementary teacher to submit six to ten entries.

Links on this page will put teachers in touch with the ASAF for assistance and materials.

Suggested visual art submissions can include puppets, portraits, collage, sculpture, murals, and folk figures; the subjects may be literary heroes, subject area notables, local community heroes,or military heroes.

Artwork requirements are as follows:

  1. All 2-D entries must be mounted on railroad board or matted, ready to hang (construction paper backing will not be accepted).

  2. All 5–12 grade work must be accompanied by an artist’s statement

  3. Artwork must be original.  “Cookie cutter” projects (all looking the same) will not be accepted.

  4. Each work must be titled and tagged with student artist’s name, medium, school, grade, and teacher attached, but not over the original artwork.
